*Update* Caterham Signs Deal to Bring Brand Back to US

*Update* Superformance got back to us regarding exactly which models it will be offering in the United States. Prices have not yet been announced, but they will launch at the Barrett Jackson Scottsdale auction from January 12-19.

The US model lineup will include the Seven 160Caterham 7 165United Kingdom, 2014 > 2014 with an 80hp turbocharged 660cc Suzuki three-cylinder engine and five-speed manual. The Seven 280 comes with a 140hp 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and five-speed manual and comes with doors as a standard feature. The Seven 360 has a 2.0-liter Duratec four-cylinder engine with 180hp and a five-speed manual and adds an upgraded suspension and limited-slip differential. The Seven 480 gets a 2.0-liter Duratec with 240hp and a six-speed manual, plus leather interior and carbon fiber components. Finally, the Seven 620R uses a supercharged 310hp 2.0-liter Duratec with a six-speed sequential gearbox with racing dampers, carbon fiber body panels and dry sump lubrication.

, since 2008 American buyers have not been able to buy actual Caterham road models. However, as of January 1, Caterham has partnered with US kit car maker Superformance to offer kits of the Seven 480 and the new Seven 620RCaterham 7 620RUnited Kingdom, 2014 > present in the United States.

“In the last two years, Caterham has significantly broadened its reach internationally and signing a new official distributor in the form of Superformance in America is a natural extension of how our brand is expanding, rapidly, across the globe.”

The cars will be shipped to the US as rolling chassis without the powertrain installed. Buyers will have to finish the installation themselves.
