FR Line Concept.

“The all-new Leon is a remarkable car, oozing Spanish flair but bursting with technology and offering genuine versatility. In addition, the introduction of the new, fourth-generation Toledo is a big step for us, because it gives our customers the chance to own a car with unique visual appeal but that packs a practicality punch way above its compact size and price. And with the stunning Mii FR Line Concept sitting on our Paris show stand too, alluding to a sportier future for the sensational city car, there are good times ahead for SEAT,” said Seat UK director Peter Wyhinny.

Leon

The most important of three for Seat is the new Leon, which is among its most popular models. The Leon will be the brand’s first car to wear a new version of Seat’s ‘S’ logo.

The Leon will be available in five-door, three-door and ST estate versions and both FR and SE versions in Paris. The new car offers a 40l larger cargo area and 6cm longer wheelbase. The new car is 90kg lighter than the previous generation. Inside, Seat has given the Leon more soft touch plastics.

It comes standard with Bluetooth and a touchscreen infotainment system. The SE trim will add a leather-wrapped steering wheel, chrome trim, fog lights, 16in wheels and electronic front differential. The top range FR will get 17in wheels, different front and rear bumpers, dual, chrome exhaust, sport seats, flat-bottomed steering wheel, dual-zone climate control and sport suspention.

At launch, the Leon will be available with three petrol engines and two diesels. The base engine will be a 1.2 TSI with 105ps. There will also be a 1.4 TSI with 140ps and 1.8 TSI with 180ps. The diesels are the 1.6 TDI with 105ps or 2.0 TDI with 150ps or 184ps. All engines except for the 1.4 TSI and 184ps 2.0 TDI will be available with a seven-speed DSG transmission. The manual transmission is a five- or six-speed depending on model.

The most efficient 1.6 TDI Ecomotive model will emit 99g/km of CO2 and use 74.3mpg UK.

Pricing in the UK starts at £15,670 for a 1.2 TSI and tops out at £22,375 for a 184ps 2.0 TDI

The car will be on sale in late February.

Toledo

The Toledo will go on sale at the end of September and tries to be the practical car in Seat’s range. It has 550l of cargo space.

The cleanest Toledo is the 1.6 TDI Ecomotive S model with 105ps. It uses 72.4mpg UK and emits 104g/km of CO2.

There are three trim lines for the Toledo: E, S and SE. E is the base car. S versions get air conditioning, Bluetooth, front electric windows and stability control. SE adds 16in wheels, fog lights, cruise control, electric rear windows and leather wrapped steering wheel. Seat is waiting to announce official pricing for the car.

Mii FR Line

Seat is also showing the Mii FR Line Concept that was first sown at the 2012 Worthersee GTI Treffen. It imagines a sportier version of the Mii. It is painted in Tornado Red with 16in wheels and black exterior trim. The interior is also quite red with a red dashboard, seats, gearshift, door panels and floor mats. The car is still a concept for now.
