*Update* Volvo apparently realized that the cat was out of the bag in terms of the car's looks. It has released a Youtube video showing off the new, five-door hatchback inside and out.
The first images of the next generation Volvo V40 wagon were leaked earlier this week. They showed two angles of the car that is not supposed to be unveiled until the Geneva Motor Show on March 6. Even more photos of the car have now come out showing all of its angles and interior.
It appears that Volvo is changing the V40 from a wagon version of the S40 sedan into its own five-door hatchback. One image shows a full-size glass roof that exposes front and rear passengers but stops just before the cargo area.
The interior seems very well appointed. There is a centrally-mounted tachometer with a digital speedometer in the center. The V40 keeps the aluminum center stack from current Volvo designs. It appears that the HVAC controls are designed to show a sitting driver, and drivers press where they want air to go. There is also a higher mounted multi-information display that will likely be used for navigation.
Still no word on engine options or drivetrains for the next generation V40.
