Audi City Opens First Store in London

has a new concept for what a car showroom can look like called Audi City, and the first store in the world is has opened in central London near Piccadilly Circus.

Audi City stores allow the brand to show all of its models, including each individual option and color to customers in a small space by projecting the images in full size onto walls. It also allows salespeople to show customers just the drivetrain, chassis, or interior to explain specific aspects of the car to them. 

The Audi City stores work with customers through the entire sale. While they do not sell the actual vehicles themselves, they get the buyer in contact with the dealer and can be contacted to arrange for service or answer questions. 

“Audi City combines the best of two worlds – digital product presentation and personal contact with the dealer. Audi City offers new freedom for tailor-made services and an even more individual contact with the customer," said Peter Schwarzenbauer, Audi Board Member for Marketing and Sales. 

Audi plans to open more than 20 Audi City stores worldwide by 2015. The next store will open in Beijing with future stores planned in Shanghai, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Moscow, New York, and Berlin.
