has set a series of goals for future models. First, it will make sure that future models have a greater differentiation. Second, their technological aspects will be more obvious in their design. Finally, the interior and exterior design will be more cohesive.

“We need something new without breaking with tradition," said Audi Head of Design Wolfgang Egger.

Egger and his team are placing more emphasis on the creative process for future cars. They want to create a stronger link between the brand's technology and design. Egger does not want the brand's technology to be hidden by its design; instead it will be exposed. The A, R, and Q lines will also all have their own looks.

The interiors and exteriors will also be better integrated. Audi wants the model to be able to be distinguished by their interiors. That means clean surfaces, few physical controls and a driver-focused cabin.

“Only when design and technology mesh perfectly does an automobile make a statement for the Audi brand,” said Egger.

concept from the Paris Motor Show is the first vehicle to show this new design approach. The car's space frame is partially exposed along the grill, intakes, doorsills and A-pillar.

To facilitate greater teamwork among the designers and engineers Audi's design center in Munich has removed many of the walls to expose each other to creative ideas, and Audi is going to redesign the studio in Ingolstadt the same way.

“Teams come up with the best ideas,” said Egger.
