Audi Experiments with Augmented Reality in R8 V10 Ad

has teamed up with augmented reality company Blippar to create a fantastic advertisement for the R8 V10 Plus.  

When pedestrians in the UK see the ad, they can aim their phone at it to take them to the video. Audi plans to do more advertising with Blippar in the future.

The video simply shows a R8 V10 on a dyno with the rear removed down to the exhaust and showing the car pulling through the gears. The camera is positioned low enough to see the inside of the exhaust glowing, and it blow blue flames during each gearshift.

“The use of Blippar technology allows people to interact immediately with the car, and get under its bonnet in a way they simply would not be able to do with a 2D advertisement alone. The new video content gives car enthusiasts the opportunity to hear the R8 V10 plus being taken to the red line," said Kristian Dean, Audi UK Communications Manager.

The R8 V10 Plus gets the ultimate version of the V10 with 543hp and able to accelerate to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds with a 197mph top speed.
