and A3 Sedan in São José dos Pinhais, Brazil. It will invest €150 to build the car and plans to begin production in 2015. This comes in addition to Audi building a factory in Mexico that will open in 2016.

“By producing in Brazil, we will create the basis for further growth in the region,” said Audi Chairman Rupert Stadler.

In addition to building cars there, Audi says that it will double its Brazilian dealer network by the end of the decade.

“In Brazil, our goal is to lead the premium segment,” said Stadler.

Audi is working with local suppliers to reduce the number of parts that need shipped from Europe to build the cars.

The A3 Sedan will be the first car built there in 2015, and the Q3 will be added a few months later.

Audi’s goal is to sell two million cars a year by 2020.
