is now unveiling its Roadster variant. According to the german manufacturer the design team wanted to reinterpret the classic style of the model and complement it with innovative components. The model uses the Audi Space Frame (ASF) based on the modular transverse matrix (MQB). Ultra-high-strength components made from hot-shaped steel reinforce the front section and the passenger compartment floor.
Two different four-cylinder engines are offered with the model. One of the engines is a petrol TFSI unit and the other a TDI diesel unit, both with turbocompressor and direct injection. The 2.0 TDI Ultra unit has 184hp and 380Nm and the 2.0 TFSI is offered in two versions, one with 230hp for the TT Roadster and another with 310hp for the TTS Roadster. The 2.0 TFSI can be combined with a 6-speed manual transmission or an automatic S Tronic 6-speed gearbox.
The interior is cleaner with a control panel that combines the traditional instruments panel and the MMI screen named Audi Virtual Cockpit. The digital instrument cluster replaces the analog instruments and the MMI monitor. The classic view is dominated by the tachograph and the rev counter, and the “infotainment” mode focuses on themes such as the navigation map. The TTS Roadster features a third, particularly sporty view that focuses on the rev counter as an important racing instrument.
The available exterior paint colors are also more diversified than before with a total of 11 options, one of which is exclusive for the S Line package. The interior also features a new range of colors including on interior color option with two tones and sporty contrasting stitching for the S models.
The Audi TT Roadster and TTS Roadster will be officially unveiled at the Paris Motor Show.
