Audi is adding a little extra zip to its TT RS in the guise of the new Plus model that adds 20hp (15kW) and 11lb-ft (15Nm) of torque to the standard TT RS in both Coupe and Roadster form.
The TT RS Plus tweaks the 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder powerplant to produce 360hp (265kW) and 343lb-ft (465Nm) that boosts the top speed to 280km/h, up from 250km/h, and jumps the 0-100km/h time to 4.1 seconds, down from 4.5 seconds in the TT RS.
Otherwise, the TT RS Plus borrows just about everything from the regular car including Quattro. It is available as a coupe or roadster, although the roadster is about a tenth of a second slower and uses a 0.1l/100km more fuel, with either the DSG or six-speed manual transmission.
The TT RS Coupe uses 8.5l/100km with a 280km/h top speed.
The RS Plus does get special, red-accented 19in wheels. It also gets a special diamond-pattern grill that is polished anthracite color with matte aluminum trim. The mirror housings are made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic.
Weight for the cars remains exactly the same with the manual coupe weighing 1450kg. It also uses the same four-piston brakes and optional magnetic ride suspension.
The TT RS Plus will go on sale in early 2012. The TT RS Plus Coupe with manual transmission costs 60,650 or 62,800 with DSG. The roadster costs 63,500 for the manual or 65,650 for the DSG.
