during the Coronation Festival.

Bentley’s biggest sales gain came in the United States where it sold 1,282 cars, 12% more than in the first half of 2012. China bought 817 cars, and the Middle East took 394 cars. The rest of Asia bought 222 cars. Bentley sold 740 cars in Europe.

It opened 14 new dealerships in the first six months of the year.

“Bentley continues to post significant global sales growth and we are extremely confident we will sustain this success for the remaining months of 2013 as we see the full availability of our new Flying SpurContinental Flying SpurBentley Continental Flyin...United Kingdom, 2013 > present11 photos
in all markets,” said Kevin Rose, head of sales at Bentley.

For the Coronation Festival, Bentley will display the Queen’s limousine at the Buckingham Palace Gardens. It first delivered the car in 2002, which marked the Queen’s 50th anniversary of her taking the throne. Other Bentley’s will also be on display.

“Whilst the State Limousine is known to millions of people across the world, the Coronation Festival will offer a superb opportunity for visitors to take their time to walk around the car and get closer than usually possible,” said Richard Charlesworth, Bentley’s Director of Royal and VIP Relations.

It took Bentley two years to create the car. Work started in 2000, and Bentley’s craftspeople modified the car specifically for the Queen. It includes a panoramic glasshouse that allows the public to see the Queen, and it has a higher rear seat and doors that open 90 degrees so that the Queen can practically walk out of the car.

The Coronation Festival runs from July 11-14.
