Citroën DS5 LS Luxury Sedan Debuts in Paris for Chinese Market

has unveiled its new DS 5 LSDS DS 5 LS THP 200France, 2014 > present luxury sedan at the Carrousel du Louvre, though the car will primarily be marketed in China.

The DS 5 LS is meant to push the design of the DS line further with the brand’s first sedan. It adapts the front end of the Numéro 9 and Wild RubisDS DS Wild RubisFrance, 2013 > 2013 concept cars onto the platform of the DS 5, and the chrome wings extending out from the grill is inspired by the two chrome wings connecting the headlights. Instead of the traditional Citroën chevron, it has a new DS emblem on the grill. It also features low-mounted boomerang-shaped running lights. It available in an exclusive color called Nocciola Brown.

The rest of the car adds chrome side trim around the windows and trunk to form the car’s silhouette. The rear features LED taillights with chrome rings set into them as a three-dimensional accent.

The interior combines metal, woof and semi-aniline leather. Leather even covers the dashboard.

The DS5 LS will be offered with either 160hp or 200hp turbocharged engines, both with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Optional features will include massaging front seats, reclining rear seats, air purifier, blind spot monitoring, rearview camera and available infotainment system.

The new luxury sedan will be on sale in China in March 2014 and be built at Citroën’s Shenzhen plant.

Citroën says that it will add a new, locally produced SUV in 2014 as its next model in China.
