Webber dominated this Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix to take his second win of the 2010 Formula One season. The Aussie continued his momentum from last week's Spanish Grand Prix and was unbeatable at the Monegasque principate. With this win Webber took the lead in the drivers' standings with the same amount of points of his team-mate Vettel that came second.
The Red Bull team came once again first and second, showing to be the team to beat this season. The podium was completed by Renault's Robert Kubica that was in great shape throughout the hole weekend.
With Webber starting on the first place of the grid the Red Bulls took the early command as Vettel prompted ahead of Robert Kubica in the first intants of the race. The German was expected to challenge his team-mate's lead, but Vettel never had the pace for Webber as the Aussie ran away establishing a 10 second lead after 23 laps.
Although the safety car was forced to enter a total of four times during the race, Webber was always able to get clear after the regrouping of the pack, with Vettel not being able to run away from Kubica.
Fourth and fifth place went to Felipe Massa and Lewis Hamilton that had a very quiet race, finishing in the same positions were they started the race. Different luck had Jenson Button who retired from the race with overheating problems probably caused by a blanking plate across car's sidepod that was left accidentally on the way to the grid.
As for Alonso who started in last place after a crash didn't give him the chance to participate in qualifying had an impressive run as he managed to come up into the points. The Spaniard benefitted from Hulkenberg's accident in the tunnel that forced the safety car to come in to go to change to intermediate tyres ahead of everyone else. When the other cars came into the pitstops Alonso jumped up the order into sixth place.
He could have managed to stay in that position until the end of the race but in the final corners of the race he got sideways out of Rascasse as the safety car came in to allow a final sprint to the checker flag, with Schumacher overtaking the Ferrari driver.
Schumacher got ahead of his team-mate right at the start. Rosberg opted for a late pitstop to try to come up the standings but although he settled several fastest laps during that period he wasn't able to overtake anyone returning to the track behind Schumacher.
Force India got in Monaco the first double points finish of the season with Adrian Sutil taking advantage of a late pitstop to overtake his team-mate Liuzzi, to take ninth place.
The Toro Rossos and the Renault of Vitaly Petrov were the other three cars that finished the race in Monaco.
In the drivers' championship standings Webber now takes the lead with the same points as Vettel with the two victories giving advantage to the Australian driver. Alonso managed to keep close to the Red Bull drivers as he lyes in third place with a five-point desadvantage. Button dropped to fourth place being followed by Felipe Massa. In the manufacturers' standings Red Bull now leads and his followed by Ferrari and McLaren.
