European Commissioner for Climate Action Connie Hedegaard toured the Ford's Cologne Factory to view its green cars including the 1.0 Ecoboost engine, 1.6 TDCi ECOnetic Technology engine and Focus Electric.
“We are delighted the Commissioner has had the opportunity to drive these vehicles and experience first-hand that low or zero CO2 emission Ford cars do not compromise driver enjoyment,” said Barb Samardzich, vice president, Product Development, Ford of Europe.
The ECOnetic Technology includes stop/start, regenerative charging, grill shutters and Eco mode. By the end of 2012, half of Ford's 30 models in Europe will have ECOnetic, and two-thirds will have it by 2013.
