Ferrari has had its best year since its debut in the Chinese market. Throughout 2010 the Italian supersports cars managed to sell a total of almost 300 vehicles. Representing an increase of sales of nearly 50 per cent compared to 2009, this sales fact are a proof of the further strengthening of Ferrari’s presence in China, following the positive trend of the recent years.
With sale figures from Hong Kong and Taiwan combined with the ones from China, this market becomes one of the top five international markets for Ferrari, which can be considered an extraordinary result having in mind that the official network has only opened six years ago.
On the 14th of January Ferrari will be celebrating the 999th in a special celebration in Shanghai. This number is very special in China as the number nine is considered lucky and represents longevity.
China has been a strong bet from Ferrari in the expansion of its activity. The Italian make paid attention to the market and in 2010 it also introduced special, dedicated initiatives. The official network is continuously growing has been strengthened with new partners that will be increasing the number of dealerships throughout China. In 2011 the Ferrari Challenge will also be traveling to China with the start of the first Asian championship of the single-make racing series.
2010 was a very important year for Ferrari in China. After displaying the HY-KERS laboratory vehicle at the Shanghai World Expo in the Italian Pavilion, the Italian brand held a world premiere in China for the first time ever. At the Beijing Auto Show Ferrari unveiled to the world the 599 GTO.
