Ferrari Predicts Record Profits in 2012

Ferrari's V12s are proving especially popular in sales now.

predicts that it will have record profits for 2012 and beat 2011's sales record.

Ferrari sales in the first six months of the year are up 7% to 3,664 cars compared to the same period last year. Its V12s are proving especially popular; sales are up 66%. Ferrari sold 7,195 cars in 2011. 

"From the latest data I've seen, we are on track to make this year another record year.

"The new F1 engine is a considerable burden for a company as small as Ferrari," said Ferrari Chairman Luca di Montezemolo.

Formula 1 will transition to 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 engines in 2014, and Ferrari is one of the three confirmed engine suppliers.
