In order to prevent that tactic mistakes like the one that may have cost the team the title on the last Grand Prix of the F1 season in Abu Dhabi, Ferrari has restructured its race engineering operations.
Team principal Stefano Domenicali had already hinted that some changes would happen in the core of the Scuderia. Ferrari has now officially announced the reshuffle of staff ahead of the 2011 campaign.
Race track engineering will now be handed to former McLaren engineer Pat Fry, replacing Chris Dyer, whose role in the company will only be redefined over the next few days.
Neil Martin, former Red Bull Racing and McLaren member, has signed with Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro and will be assuming the role of heading up the new Operations Research department. Martin will be reporting directly to technical director Aldo Costa.
Ferrari has made a clear statement that errors like the one that happened in Abu Dhabi are not to be repeated and hopes that the changes in its structure will boost the Scuderia in its quest for titles in the 2011 season.
