Ferrari has announced that it will be presenting the SA APERTA model at the Paris International Motor Show 2010. The SA APERTA is a special series model that will have an 80 unit limited production, which has already been sold. This number was chosen as a way to celebrate Pininfarina's 80th anniversary, The SA nomenclature also pays tribute to Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina.
Based on the 599 model the SA APERTA is a true roadster which benefits from Ferrari’s front-engined V12 architecture to offer the driving emotions to its occupants in a completely open-top setting.
The SA APERTA comes just with a light soft top designed to be used only when weather gets really bad. The roadster has a aerodynamic sleekness thanks to the low-slung windscreen and the fact that it crouches lower to the ground than other Ferrari’s.
In order to deliver a standard of stiffness that can be compared with the one from a closed berlinetta, the chassis of the SA APERTA was redesigned. The work done on the chassis structure also reflected on the weight difference.
Under the bonnet of the SA APERTA the 670 hp engine will ensure that the sporty spirit of the 599 will be embodied by the roadster, which will feature Ferrari's most advanced technology in order to deliver benchmark performance and driving pleasure.
Inside the SA APERTA also receives a sporty look, with particularly sophisticated materials, trim and colours used throughout. Offering an almost unlimited combination, Ferrari almost guarantees that each SA APERTA is absolutely unique.
