Ferrari has made an exclusive presentation to the international press of the first ever theme park dedicated to the Prancing Horse, the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. The theme park is ready to open doors but the opening to the has been postponed indefinitely in sign of  mourning for the passing away of Sheik Saqr bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi, Emir of Ras al-Khaimah.

"First of all I would like, on behalf of both myself and everyone at Ferrari, to express our sincere condolences to the government and the population of the United Arab Emirates for their tragic loss," - said the Chairman of Ferrari, Luca di Montezemolo. "Then I would like to thank the nation and all those who made it possible to make this dream - a unique theme park dedicated to the world of Ferrari - a reality. Congratulations to everyone involved."

Luca di Montezemolo admits that four years ago the idea of this park was a very ambitious project, but now it is “a fantastic reality”. The chairman of Ferrari thanked everyone who worked without rest for the last two years in order to make the dream come true.

Talking about Abu Dhabi Montezemolo said that it “is a great city that constantly looks to the future, and we are very proud of our partners who share with Ferrari the same passion, the same vision, the same will to go beyond.”

With attractions for kids, men and women the Ferrari World is a park that combines innovative technology, tradition and that is not only dedicated to Ferrari fans and car enthusiastic.

According to Ferrari’s Chairman, the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is expected to have “the real touch of Ferrari: how things really are for us, with our exclusive GT road cars and racing cars, but also our history and our cultural background.”

We are pleased to see that all this has become reality, and that the excitement - like the roller coaster that makes you feel like a Formula One driver - goes hand-in-hand with messages that perfectly combine having a good time with the reality represented by the passion for Ferrari”, added Montezemolo.

The exterior of the park is modeled after the side profile of a Ferrari GT, and the roof has a total surface area of 200,000 square meters (2,200,000 sq ft) with a perimeter of 2,200 meters (7,200 ft). One-hundred-sixty feet below that roof, which features the largest Prancing Horse ever created, you can find 86,000 square meters (930,000 sq ft) of floor space, making Ferrari World the largest indoor theme park on the planet.
