The small crossover will have a higher ride height, slightly wider fenders with cladding and will be available with either front- or all-wheel drive. The front and rear will copy the current 500 with round headlights and chrome bar grill.

The 500L and 500X will ride on the same platform from the current PuntoGrande Punto - Punto Evo Gen.3Fiat Grande Punto - Punto Evo Gen.3Italy, 2012 > present31 versions

. Like the 500L, it will carry five passengers and about 4m long. Engines will also likely be shared with the 93bhp 1.4-litre TwinAir as the base and104bhp 1.0-litre two-cylinder and Multijet diesels as options. 

The car is set debut at the Paris Motor Show on September 29 with a base price of around £14,000 or €17,631 in Europe.
