Volkswagen has revealed the first images of the new Tiguan that is set to make its world debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. The facelifted model will be available for pre-order with a base price of 24,175 euros.

The price tag announced (for the German market) refers to the Trend & Fun version powered by a 1.4 TSI (90 kW / 122 PS) engine.

Having been launched in 2007 the Volkswagen Tiguan became almost immediately became SUV market leader in Germany, which continues until today as the model has just been announced by the German Federal Bureau of Motor Vehicles as the bestselling SUV between Hamburg and Munich.

Some of the reasons of the success of the Tiguan can be explained by the five stars in EuroNCAP crash testing, the fuel efficiency of its TDI and TSI engines as well as comfort.

Being one of the most popular Volkswagen model around the world, Tiguan’s highest selling markets are located in Europe, Russia, USA, China, Brazil and Australia. Since it was first launched in autumn 2007 572,000 Tiguans have already been sold.
