Fisker Karma Racing in Bodensee-Elektrik 2012 Rallye

The Range-Extended Karma has a 483km range and will be racing through Austria, Germany and Switzerland

Fisker is entering a Karma into the inauguralBodensee-Elektrik 2012 Rallye from May 3-6. The rally is meant to test the range and performance of electric vehicles through the Alps and roads of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The car will be driven by journalists from AutoBild magazine, and the progress will be available on Fisker's Facebook page.

“We’re very proud that after just four years of true development, we have brought to market a range-extended electric car capable of performing in an event such as the inaugural Bodensee-Elektrik Rallye. With the Karma on-sale and being delivered to customers throughout Europe, it is a great time to show what the car is capable of,” said Bernhard Koehler, co-founder of Fisker Automotive.

The Karma is rated at using 2.1l/100km of petrol, and it produces 51g/km of CO2 by the German TUV. The car has an 83km pure electric range with a total range of 483km.  

The Karma first when on sale in the United States in October 2011, and it is now on sale in Europe. The car has been displayed in the window at Harrods department store in London. As of April, the Karma is also on sale in the Middle East and North Africa.
