Ford announces customer satisfaction program

After receiving reports from some driver that had experienced a different brake feel with the switch from the hybrid’s unique regenerative brakes to conventional hydraulic braking, Ford has announced a customer satisfaction program to update the software of the regenerative brake system of some 2010-model Ford Fusion Hybrids and Mercury Milan Hybrids.

According to Ford “the Fusion and Milan Hybrids’ brake system maintains full conventional brakes and full ABS function even as the customer sees visual indicators and hears a chime”.

With the software upgrade unnecessary occurrences of the vehicle switching from regenerative braking to conventional hydraulic brakes will be reduced.

Ford warns that the customers that own affected vehicles will receive a notice in the mail so that they can go to dealers and have a reprogramming of the vehicle system, with at no cost
