Arrival in the market is scheduled for the end of 2015 in the United States and Canada. The European market should not get this version.

The Shelby Mustang GT350R is powered by a 5.2 liter V8, Ford's most powerfull naturally aspirated engine ever. With an output above 500hp Ford created the version following the "same spirit" of the original Shelby GT350 CompetitionFord Shelby Mustang GT350 RUnited States of America, 1965 > present.

The design differences include a hood vent, a more aggressive front diffuser, ventilated wheel arches and a carbon fiber rear wing. The wheels are made of lightweight carbon fiber and receive tires specifically created by Michelin. Additionally it receives painted calipers, racing stripes and contrasting stitches in the interior trim.

Compared to the GT350, Ford managed to reduce 59kg of weight in the GT350R. Removing the air conditioning system, the rear seat and the rear chamber contributed for the reduction. However, customers can opt for the Electronics Package that includes bi-zone air conditioning, an eight-inch infotainment system and a stereo system.

The GT350R will join the Ford Performance range that already features the Ford Focus RS and the new GTFord GTUnited States of America, 2016 > present. The American brand aims to create a line with a total of 12 models.
