The 3R-C is the futuristic concept vehicle that will be presented by Honda at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, starting on May the 4th.
The three wheeled vehicle intends to represent what a future minimal urban transport might look like. The 3R-C transports only one person and is powered by a battery electric drivetrain, which is located low in the three wheeled chassis, in order to keep the centre of gravity low, consequently increasing the stability.
The driving position in the 3R-C is similar to the one of a scooter. When parked the vehicle has a clear canopy that covers the driver's seat, which becomes a wind-shield, once again remembering a motorcycle. The driver stands in a low position, being protected by the vehicle’s bodywork and doors.
The 3R-C also has available storage for luggage or other items located in the front of the driver, in a lockable boot area. To improve the comfort of the vehicle, as the driver is very exposed while driving, the 3R-C’s designers came up with a flexible cover that surrounds he’s upper torso
The designers at Honda's Research and Design facility in Milan were the minds behind the conception and development of the 3R-C study that will featuring at the Geneva Motor Show.
