Honda Civic Enters World Touring Car Championship

Honda will enter a the European Civic with a newly developed turbocharged engine in the FIA World Touring Car Championship this season. 

Mugen, Honda's skunkworks for performance engines, is building a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine for the series that will be placed in the European Civic 5-door. The engine applies to the FIA Super 2000 regulation. 

Honda is planning to enter the series at the Japanese round of the WTCC this year on October 21. It would then take place in the next two rounds: China and Macau. Honda then plans to run a full season in the series in 2013.
