At this year's Frankfurt Motor Show, which begins on September 15, the Japanese company will unveil the Project 2&4Project 2&4Honda Project 2&4Japan, 2015 > 2015, a single seater trackday vehicle with MotoGP derived technology.

The Project 2&4 is the winning entry of the "Global Design Project" launched by Honda and celebrates the brand's position as a world leader in the manufacture of engines ranging applications in two and four wheels in the industry of motorized transport and also equipment force, marine engines and aerospace applications.

With 3.040mm long, 1.820mm wide and 995mm tall, Honda states that the design of the Project 2&4 was inspired by the legendary 1965 Formula 1 Honda RA272RA272Honda RA272Japan, 1965 > 19653 photos

With a compact size, the low weight of the concept, just 405kg potentially by the use of aluminum and carbon fiber (Honda did not reveal this information), make it 115kg lighter than the Atom. The result is to maximize the impact caused by the engine central position which, together with the low center of gravity, ensures a high level of response.

The Project 2&4 receives the engine MotoGP  RC213V, despite having been modified for use on public roads. Honda says that the vehicle provides the freedom of a motorcycle and car maneuvering skills.

The V4 0.9 liter engine has a 215hp power at 13,000rpm and a peak torque of 118Nm. The transmission is a six-speed DCT unit. Honda did not disclose data about the performance of the Project 2&4.

With an open cockpit, the driving experience is taken to new levels with the driver's seat, suspended in an unusual way over the road. This design with a "floating seat" places as close to the driver's action, similar to the freedom offered by a motorbike.
