just one year after it debuted. The new design will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 29 and will be available for sale at North American Honda dealers on the same day.
The new design attempts to make the ninth generation Civic appear more luxurious than the initial styling and differentiates the car more from its predecessor. The redesign features an open lower bumper with chrome accents and black honeycomb grill. The headlights have the same design but with clear side marker lights instead of amber lights. The creases on the hood are deeper than before. At the rear, the bumper has a more sculpted design that is more complicated than the very simple design on the 2012 car. The taillights have been redesigned to wrap into the trunk. There is also a simulated rear diffuser on the new car.
"The 2013 Honda Civic exterior refinements infuse Civic with a more youthful, premium style. Coupling these with additional changes beneath will ensure that Civic maintains its top-ranked status," said Vicki Poponi, assistant vice president of product planning for American Honda.
