Honda's Geneva Booth Includes NSX, CR-V, New Jazz Models and EV-STER

Honda's booth at the Geneva Motor Show is a mix of the not-so-old and brand new. 

In the not-so-old column, Honda will be giving the NSX its European debut and giving the newest CR-V its debut in Europe too. 

We saw the new NSX at the North American International Auto Show last month. It uses a mid-mounted V6 with Sport Hybrid SH-AWD, which sends the power from an electric motor to the front wheels for an all-wheel drive boost when needed. Honda is planning to build the car at one of its Ohio factories and plans for it to go on sale in about three years. 

The other car that has already been shown in the US but will be new in Europe is the next generation CR-V. It will go on sale in Europe this fall. In the US, the new CR-V comes with a 2.4 liter, four-cylinder engine with 185hp. Base two-wheel drive cars retail for $22,295. The new model looks a little more aggressive, but it takes up nearly the same footprint. 

The EV-STER was shown at the Tokyo Motor Show as the Small Sports EV Concept. It did not reveal any specifications about the car in Japan, but perhaps Honda will have more info in Switzerland. 

Finally, Honda will have some new things for Europe as well. It will debut a new 1.6 liter diesel engine as part of its Earth Dreams line. The 1.6 liter diesel delivers sub-100g/km of CO2 ratings. Honda has not revealed which cars in Europe will get the new engine. 

There will also be some changes to the Jazz for 2012. There will be a new, more sporty Jazz Si. It will go on sale this summer with an upgraded, stiffer suspension and exterior upgrades. The Jazz 1.2 gets start/stop tech that reduces CO2 emissions by 3g/km.
