brought to this year's Paris Motor Show the Q80 Inspiration. The concept was created as a statement from the company to try to revolutionize the premium sedan segment. The Q80 Inspiration illustrates the new Infiniti design language. The concept is 5060mm long, 2010mm wide and 1340mm tall, measures similar to those of its hypothetical rivals.

With this new concept Infiniti decided to unveil a new hybrid powertrain consisting of a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine and an electric motor. The V6 engine is part of the new family of engines that will be launched in the next two years.

The aluminium V6 engine has a 450hp output while the electric motor has 100hp, powered by a lithium-ion battery. In total the combined power lies in 550hp and 750Nm of torque. Thanks to this powertrain the Infiniti Q80 Inspiration gets an average consumption of 5.5l/100km and CO2 emissions of 129g/km with the help of a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The concept may be driven in rear wheel drive mode, but torque can distribute power between all four wheels depending on the road conditions. However, drivers can also choose to put the car in a permanent all-wheel drive mode.

The approach of the four-seat cabin used a minimalist design with a small screen for the infotainment system placed in the center console with a dashboard that shows the most relevant information for the driver. Trim details include Alcantara, leather and metal.

The vehicle includes autonomous driving technology using a system of cameras, lasers and sensors that can suggest actions to the driver, such as accelerating, braking or follow the car ahead. This driver information is displayed on a Head-up display screen (HUD). Passengers also have access to a HUD screen that can display information via a smartphone to which it is connected.

The release of a production version of the Q80 Inspiration will mark the entry of Infiniti into the top-of-range premium sedan market. The model has already confirmed production and should be released in the next three to five years.
