The new luxury sedan will be rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. It will be offered as both a sedan and wagon. 

The car will be offered with the 2.2-liter diesel and 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine. 

The company is also working on a nine-speed automatic transmission for the future as well. 

The X-Type was offered from 2001 to 2009 as a sedan and from 2004 as a wagon. Critics constantly complained that the car was too similar to the Ford MondeoMondeo Gen.3Ford Mondeo Gen.3United Kingdom, 2001 > 200723 versions

This has to be good news, I hope that it'll be as good as the XF is relative to its time and position in the market. Jaguar and Land Rover seem to have a bright future.
