Land Rover had originally slated the introduction of the DC100 for 2015, but popularity may bring the car to market even sooner. The DC100 is meant to be the brand's entry-level model that will be slotted below the Freelander. The truck is about the same size as the Mini Countryman, Skoda Yeti and Nissan Juke but will be built on the next generation Defender platform. Land Rover wants to get in on the compact SUV market that is currently booming thanks to trucks like the BMW X1.

Land Rover was surprised by the overwhelmingly positive sentiment that the car received on the car show circuit. It says that people thought that it would cost £45,000 but will actually start £20,000-£25,000.

There is a new Range Rover and Discovery coming in the next few years as well.
