Land Rover Evoque is Women's World Car of the Year

The award is voted on by 17 female automotive journalists worldwide

The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque has been named the Women's World Car of the Year for 2012.

The award is voted on by 17 international, female automotive journalists. The women look at the vehicle's mechanical properties but its safety, cargo space, child-friendliness, environmental-friendliness and value for money. Land Rover will receive the trophy for the award at the Paris Motor Show in September

According to Land Rover, the Evoque has won 110 honors since it was introduced including the North American Truck of the year in 2012.

"The Women's World Car of the Year title further reflects the great market reach of Evoque. Across the world, women are a customer base in their own right, so it is vital for any manufacturer to ensure their products meet their preferences and requirements," said John Edwards, Land Rover Global Brand Director.
