Land Rover range to be a plug-in hybrid.
“Plug-in hybrids definitely have the most potential. The Range Rover is the logical place to start as buyers of this car are able to afford the technology. It makes sense to put it in the top car and let it filter its way down the range,” said Peter Richings, chief engineer for hybrid technology at Jaguar Land Rover.
Unfortunately, we will have to wait a little while for the diesel hybrid Range Rover. The model is not due to go on sale until after 2015. It also has not discussed the diesel engine's layout. During the Range Rover launch, Land Rover said that it was aiming for 169g/km of CO2 emissions.
