At this year's Paris Motor Show Porsche will be unveiling the fourth version of the second generation Panamera: the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid. The new hybrid version is fitted with controlled all-wheel drive and has an electric range of 50 kilometres.
The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid has a combined output of 462hp generated from two engines, one petrol and one electric. With the electric motor fitted on the Panamera the power (136hp) and torque (400Nm) is made available as soon as the driver touches the accelerator pedal. In the new plug-in hybrid the driver always starts in purely electric mode and drives without generating any local emissions within a range of 50 kilometres and a maximum speed of 140 km/h.
The electric motor is supplied with power via a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery. And despite the fact that the energy content of the battery (which is integrated under the luggage compartment floor) has been increased from 9.4 to 14.1 kWh, its weight has remained the same.
The new 2.9-litre V6 biturbo engine with 330hp adds the performance characteristics to the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, enables it to reach the 278km/h mark in Sport Plus mode and sprint to 100km/h in 4.6 seconds. Together they produce a combined consumption of 2.5l/100km and CO2 emissions of 56g/km.
The hybrid system is fitted with the new fast and efficient-shifting Porsche eight-speed Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission is used to transmit the power to the all-wheel drive.
The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid is now available on the European market.
