sponsor, Santander Bank, held an event on Thursday, June 28, revealing its proposed route for a grand prix through the streets of London.
"Some other countries have two races like Spain and Germany, and arguably the UK makes an enormous contribution to F1, so I reckon that would be completely justified," said Hamilton.
"There's a mammoth following for Formula 1 in the UK and a race in the city would be at the heart of everything, easily reachable by public transport. It would be a fantastic race for the drivers and the fans alike," said Jenson Button.
Below is Santander Bank's proposed London Grand Prix route. Turn down your speakers. It is pretty loud. The route goes past Buckingham Palace, Parliament and the Mall. The one problem with the route is that there appears very little runoff room in most corners and no runoff at all in a few. It will also be very difficult to shut down major roads in London. The other proposed course would be in the new Olympic Stadium.
