has been celebrating its 50th anniversary all year, but its latest act is finally something customers can enjoy. McLaren is building limited editions of 50 each of anniversary edition 12CMcLaren MP4-12CUnited Kingdom, 2012 > present544 photos

. The cars will be specially modified by McLaren Special Operations, which is generally responsible for upkeeps of customer's F1sMcLaren F1United Kingdom, 1992 > present7 photos
and creating modified cars for customers.

The cars get a new front bumper that increases downforce created by the 12C's designer Frank Stephenson. The top of the piece is made from carbon fiber and bottom is made from carbon Kevlar. There is also a black McLaren emblem on the hood that is like the one used on the F1. 

They come standard with carbon ceramic brakes and McLaren 50 Ultra Lightweight wheels in satin black that are 19in in front and 20in in the rear. The wheels are the lightest wheels that McLaren makes, and are 2kg (4.4lb) lighter than its Super Lightweight wheels.  

The interior of the special edition gets a full leather upgrade with carbon fiber sill plates, a dedication plaque on the driver's door and branded floor mats. 

They will only be available in Carbon Black, Supernova Silver or heritage McLaren Orange exterior colors.

When buyers receive their car, it will come with a monogrammed car cover, a limited edition key in a carbon fiber presentation box and a signed print by Stephenson. 

Prices for the anniversary editions are £196,000 for the McLaren 50 12C and £215,500 for the McLaren 50 12C Spider, £27,500 over the cost of a standard 12C and £20,500 over the cost of a standard Spider.
