It also makes a sly point about the F1 team's recent performance

but not know what it means. Since last season, McLaren has been creating short animated films above the development of its racecars and its history.

The latest of these short films tells the early story of Bruce McLaren and also makes a sly point about the current state of the team.

The cartoon starts with an unnamed old man interrupting a McLaren press conference by yelling that McLaren was not always a successful racer or engineer. He explains that at 14 he began modifying cars and had more failures than successes, but he persevered and eventually found success.

The point that McLaren is not always winning but is constantly pushing forward is an argument that the team is showing today. McLaren went from finishing third in the World Constructors’' Championship last season to being in sixth place this year and are two points behind Force India.

McLaren has been celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. In February, it created the fabulous and heart breaking Courage short film. And this is a great, cute follow-up that shows a lighter side of the company.
