Mercedes-Benz will unveil at this year's New York Motor Show the facelifted CLA and CLA Shooting Brake. The two models receive subtle mid-life changes, which include some exterior style, revised interior trims, updated connectivity options and more engine choices, including a new CLA 45 4Matic with 381hp.
In terms of design the new CLA can be distinguished by a new grille insert featuring diamond-shaped elements and revised front bumper with silver, black or chrome highlight. At the back updates includes a new trim strip between the tailpipes, which have been integrated in the rear bumper.
Interior updates include revised instruments with red needles, a new range of seat upholstery, as well as updated trim elements and chrome plated controls. The smartphone integration via Apple’s CarPlay and Google’s Android Auto has also been enhanced on the facelifted CLA.
Newcomers to the CLA range are the four-wheel drive CLA 220 4Matic and CLA 180 Shooting Brake, the last one being powered by a Renault turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol with 122hp.
The CLA 180d BlueEfficiency continues to be the most frugal version of the CLA range. According to Mercedes, the version now features a combined consumption of 5.0l/100km and CO2 emissions of 89g/km (sedan version).
The CLA 45 AMG 4Matic keeps its' place at the top of the range with 381hp and 475Nm of torque. The sedan and estate can reach the 100km/h mark in 4.2 and 4.3 seconds respectively, which is 0.4 seconds faster than the predecessors. Top speed is limited to 250km/h.
