Aston Martin has finally unveiled the production version of the new Rapide model at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. Aston Martin’s luxury car is entering the production run three years after it was first presented at the 2006 Genève Motor Show, in Switzerland. The official Rapide model keeps its overall style and size, standing at approximately 54 inches high and 197 inches long.
The Aston Martin Rapide is announced by the British make as a luxurious, functional and spacious car, in which every action is under the control of your fingers, so it can be useful at anytime and any place. The Rapide is also Aston Martin’s first 4-door sports car to be mass-produced, after successfully going through a series of strict and accurate tests that approved of the car’s quality, performance and durability levels.
The Aston Martin Rapide comes with a hand-built 6-liter V12 powerplant the enables the car to generate up to 477 horsepower. Aided by a 6-speed ‘Touchtronic 2’ transmission, the car is expected to be capable of performing a 303 km/h top speed and going from 0 to 100 km/h in an average 5,3 seconds. 20-inch wheels and a 301-liter luggage compartment are some of the many body features to be found on this new Aston Martin sports car.
