Design Director Ian Callum says that he has “finished design work” on the company’s upcoming smaller sedan. The company plans to reveal it as a concept at the Paris Motor Show in October and unveil the production version at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

Callum is not discussing the design specifically, but the car will “follow the current design trends of Jaguar,” which means that it will have the more upright grill from the F-TypeF-Type (modern) Gen.1Jaguar F-Type (modern) Gen.1United Kingdom, 2012 > present33 versions

“This is not a time to start changing direction. We’ve established a beautiful design and we need to start using it on a family, and this will be part of the family,” said Callum.

As already revealed, the new sedan will use Jaguar’s new aluminum, modular platform. Jaguar is already considering how else to use the platform, including the possibility of wagon, coupe and crossover variants.

“I think what we’ve ended up with will be a very strong contender in what, we’re under no illusions, is a very tough marketplace,” said Callum.
