New Seat Ibiza

Seat has a new generation Ibiza coming this spring in three-, five-door and wagon versions, and it says the Cupra version will come later this year.

The centerpiece of the new design is the trapezoidal grill with the Seat logo in the center. Seat made the front of the car flatter and more horizontal compared to the previous version. The fog lights come standard on the FR model and are optional on all other trims. From the side there is a style line that runs from the headlights and through the door. A second line runs over the rear fenders to the rear lights.

Seat did not release any pictures, but it said that the climatronic has been redesigned. There is also a different steering wheel with changed instrument binnacle.

The Ibiza range has a variety of engine options. There is a 1.2 liter engine with 60hp, a 1.4 TSI with 150hp and a 1.2 TSI with 105hp. There are also a variety of diesel engines including: a 1.2 TDI E-Ecomotive with start/stop and 75hp and a 2.0 TDI with 143hp. These engines consume 3.4l/100km and 4.6l/100km respectively. Transmissions range from a five-speed manual, a six-speed manual or DSG depending on engine and trim level.

There are three trim level: Reference, Style and the Ibiza FR. Style level cars get standard air conditioning, and the FR is more sporty with alloy wheels, a leather steering wheel and improved trim.

A new gen? Looks like a facelift at best.

Agree, I hardly see any difference.

Indeed, it is only a facelift... And the lines mentionned on the side are already there on the current generation...
