Another month and another major auto show. We had Geneva Motor Show in early March and the North American International Auto Show in January; plus the Frankfurt Motor Show before that. The New York International Auto Show begins April 4 in New York City with April 4-5 being thre press days when all of the news will be released.
If there is anything that sets this show off from the others, it is the massive number of new sedans appearing at this show. It seems like every major automaker decided to make New York the place to debut their new, large sedans.
Nissan has the new Altima, which has been teased for months now.
Chevrolet will debut the newest generation of its Impala full-size sedan, which it has done a very good job of keeping under wraps.
Acura will have its new RLX concept using its Hybrid SH-AWD drive system that combines a front-wheel drive V6 engine and electric motors in each rear wheel. It might also be showing the production ready version of the ILX. The version in Detriot did not have an interior yet.
Also Honda plans to show a concept for the next generation Accord Crosstour.
Toyota is not going to let Honda steal the press with new sedans; so it will have the next generation Toyota Avalon and Lexus ES350 at the show.
Even Fisker is getting in on the act with its BMW 5-series-sized Atlantic.
The other large portion of the car market at the show are compact SUVs. The Mercedes GLK, BMW X1, Hyundai Sante Fe and Subaru XV will all be at the New York show.
Things are perhaps a little less interesting on the sports car front. The biggest reveal in that category will be the new SRT Viper. We still do not know if it is sticking with its V10 engine like every other generation or maybe getting a V8.
You can review what we have written about all of the cars coming to the New York International Auto Show below.
BMW X1, 6-Series Gran Coupe, M6 and X6M
