Nissan E-NV2000 Shows Concept for Future Electric Minivan

What happens when the Nissan Leaf gets mixed with the NV200 van. Well Nissan is imagining what that combination would look like with the Nissan E-NV200 that clearly blends the style of both vehicles into a next gen electric, utility concept. Nissan calls the E-NV200 a potential mass production vehicle, which I guess makes it one step more than the concept but not quite production ready.

“A vehicle like the Nissan e-NV200 Concept would energize the current compact van market in more ways than one – helping improve the quality of urban life and providing a smart financial investment for large and small businesses alike,”  said Hideto Murakami, corporate vice president for Nissan Motor Co.

The exterior of the E-NV200 is meant to mix the Leaf and NV200. It takes the Leaf's centrally-mounted charging port and most of the design of its front end and grafts it onto the body of the NV200. It has large windows to make the interior airy, and the exterior of the concept was painted the same Aqua Blue as the Nissan Leaf.

The powertrain for the E-NV200 is lifted directly from the Leaf, which would obviously have to be changed if the truck ever goes into production. Still if offers 207lb-ft of torque and no emissions.

Nissan says that it has already begun real world testing the E-NV200. The Japan Post Service and FedEx have both been testing the E-NV200.

Why this comment? Because of the load a professional van may have to carry? 'The powertrain for the E-NV200 is lifted directly from the Leaf, which would obviously have to be changed if the truck ever...
