Nissan Operating Profit Falls $300 Million for Period from April to June

posted lower revenue, profit, income and unit sales than the same period in the previous year. However, market share improved in both Japan and North America, but sales in China are still falling.

Nissan had net revenue of $25.43 billion, down $1.21 billion from the previous sales period. Operating profit was $1.19 billion, down $310 million. Net income was $830 million, down $70 million. For the sales period, Nissan sold 1.17 million cars worldwide, down 40,000 units or 3.3%.

“Market conditions were challenging in the first quarter, but our results were in line with our prior expectations. We anticipate robust contributions from our new product launches in the second quarter and beyond. Nissan is on track to deliver its full-year guidance," said Nissan president and CEO Carlos Ghosn.
