has revealed the first images and a few more details about the concept that it will unveil at the Sao Paulo Motor Show on October 24.
It says that the vehicle will be an all-new automotive "genre," and from the images it appears to borrow some queues from the GT-R and may be a crossover SUV. While it will just be a concept this year, Nissan has already made plans to build the new car in Brazil and sell it there.
Nissan holds a 2% market share in Brazil as of 2011 and aims to be 5% of new car sales by 2016. It will complete a new factory in 2014 with a 200,000 car annual capacity.
"The showcar will dazzle on two counts. It is a genuinely new and exciting concept, and it will explode with energetic design and impressive color that fully express our impression toward the country.
"When our designers arrived in Brazil to start work on the project, they loved the vibrancy and passion of the country but were a little surprised in the rather conservative colors of the cars on the streets... they all seemed to be monochrome - silver or black," said Nissan Chief Creative Officer Shiro Nakamura.
