Nissan Wants to Expand UK Plant to Build Infiniti Q30

It is awaiting permission from the local government

Q30Q30Infiniti Q30Japan, 2014 > present premium hatchback starting in 2015. The expansion would add 25,000 square feet (2,300 square meters) to the factory.

"If approved, these extensions will support the continued growth of Nissan's UK operations.... The main extensions proposed are to the body shop and the trim and chassis building and are required for new production facilities," said sa Nissan spokesperson.

Nissan says that it expects to build about 50,000 units of the Q30 a year in Sunderland. 

The expansion would also provide extra capacity for the new QashqaiQashqaiNissan QashqaiJapan, 2006 > 2014305 versions
