Opel Ampera Will Race in Alternative Energy Rally Monte Carlo

Opel is entering six factory-backed Amperas into the 13th Alternative Energy Rally Monte Carlo that is organized by the Automobile Club de Monaco. The rally runs from March 23 to 25. 

“Spectators will have the chance to see our electric cars in action under the challenging conditions the rally has to offer.” said Enno Fuchs, Opel’s Director E-Mobility.

The race runs from Annecy-le-Vieux, Clermont-Ferrand and Lugano on March 22 and finishes in Monaco. The rally is expecting 150 competitors this year. Cars must produce less than 115g/km of CO2 to enter. 

The Amperas in the rally will use the stock 150hp electric motor.
