is proving very popular from preorders and has had over 20,000 orders with most of those coming from Germany.

The Adam's major selling point is its accessories. The car is based on the CorsaCorsa Gen.4 [D]Opel Corsa Gen.4 [D]Germany, 2006 > present222 versions

platform but offers 61,000 exterior layouts and 82,000 interior layouts, according to Opel. It is built on the same assembly line as the Corsa but with special stops for some of the special assembly.

Options include Opel's IntelliLink system that pairs the infotainment system with the driver's smartphone. It also can have park assist, a heated steering wheel, side blind spot alert and Opel's FlexFix foldable bicycle carrier.  In the coming months, it will also get Apple's SIRI Eyes Free voice recognition system.

“This is an outstanding start for our new small lifestyle car from Eisenach – especially if one considers that the market launch in many European markets is yet to come. The Adam sparks excitement and is a popular new ambassador for our brand," said Thomas Sedran, deputy chairman of Opel.

The Adam premiered at the Paris Motor Show in October 2012. It has already been named Number One City Car by Auto Zeitung and one of the best cars of 2013 by Auto Motor und Sport.
