have released their financial results for the first half of 2013, and both of them are doing poorly in Europe but are having sales growth in China. Peugeot is doing especially poorly with sales down 15.4%. Even Citroën is down 1.7%.
Peugeot sold 808,000 vehicles worldwide from January through June, down 15.4% over the same period last year due to stopping sales in Iran in February. Sales are down 10.3% in Europe to 473,000 cars but up 21.2% outside Europe. The European auto market in general is down 6.7% in the first half of the year.
Outside of Europe, Peugeot sold 348,000 cars, up 21.2% from the first half of 2012, and these sales represent 43% of its total sales. Its goal is for half of its sales to come from outside of Europe by 2015.
Peugeot’s sales hit 139,800 cars in China, 35% higher than this period last year. The two most popular Peugeots in China are the 308Peugeot 308 Access 1.2 VTiFrance, 2013 > present with 43,700 cars sold and 3008Peugeot 3008 Gen.1France, 2008 > 2016105 versions

Latin America is Peugeot’s third largest market with 87,300 sales, up 15%. Its largest markets there are Argentina and Brazil.
Citroën sold 653,000 vehicles in the first half of 2013, down 1.7% than the same period last year. Sales are down 13.8% in Europe to 401,000 cars. Russian sales are also down 18.1% to 14,000 cars.
Citroën sales are up 23% outside of Europe and now account for 39% of total sales.
Chinese sales up 31.4% to 138,000 cars and account for 21% of the brand’s sales.
Sales in Latin America are up 11.9% to 58,000 cars.
Citroën has also announced that it has signed an importer agreement with Australia, and its cars will be sold there soon.
