Peugeot reveals the 508 ahead of the Paris Motor Show

Due to have its’ world premiere at this year’s Paris Motor Show, Peugeot has revealed the first pictures of the 508, the successor of the successful 407. According to the French brand the 508 was developed to reaffirm the Marque’s presence in the large touring car segment.

Quality, purity and efficiency were the keywords that guided the process of creation and development of the new Peugeot model. In terms of exterior design the 508, Peugeot explains that the stylistic codes were taken from the SR1 concept car. The interior will have a high quality finish with a lot of space and also a large boot.

Another characteristic of the 508 will be the environmental efficiency. In fact, the new Peugeot will benefit from a series of new technologies which will improve the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The technologies will include the new e-HDi system (new-generation Stop & Start with improved driveability and economy), and the HYbrid4 technology, with its 147 kW (200 bhp) and all-wheel drive potential.

With the first presentation happening in October, in Paris, the 508 will be shown with two body styles: the saloon and the SW. Sales are scheduled to start at the beginning of 2011. The 508 will be produced at Rennes-La-Janais, in France, for the European market. From 2011 it will also be produced in Wuhan, in China.
